Having managed development, human rights and advocacy programmes in the UK and Colombia (I headed the Christian Aid Colombia programme for six years and coordinated the Peace Brigades International Colombia Project and ABColombia, the advocacy coordination of the UK and Ireland’s leading development agencies), I have now worked as a translator, interpreter, proofreader and editor for nearly 40 years. I have taught translation and interpretation at Masters level.
My specialisms include development, monitoring and evaluation, human rights, environmental issues, social sciences and law. I have a particular expertise in post-editing AI texts and pieces written in English by authors with Spanish as a first language. During the COVID-19 pandemic I became very experienced as an interpreter on Zoom and other virtual platforms.
